Uzbekistan and Germany discuss expansion of textile cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 25 November, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Akram Aliev held a meeting with the leadership of Textima, led by Hartmut Gerloff.
The parties reviewed current outcomes of Uzbek–German cooperation, noting that bilateral trade exceeded US$1.2 billion in 2024. Particular attention was given to the development of the textile sector, which remains one of Uzbekistan’s key areas of industrial growth.
The talks highlighted ongoing modernization of the textile industry, including improvements in production processes, support for enterprises, and the introduction of advanced technologies to enhance the competitiveness of Uzbek products on global markets.
Textima representatives praised the effectiveness of ongoing reforms and expressed readiness to continue participating in strategic projects aimed at strengthening the sector’s export potential.
Following the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their interest in advancing joint initiatives and agreed to maintain practical cooperation.
