Uzbekistan and Belarus Discuss New Joint Projects in Trade and Agriculture
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 2 March, in Minsk, a working meeting took place between Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and Mikhail Myatlikov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Belarus, as part of the Uzbek delegation’s official visit. The meeting was arranged following a practical visit of the Belarusian delegation to Uzbekistan in February 2026.
The discussions involved Igor Dorofeychik, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus, Rakhmatulla Nazarov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Belarus, as well as representatives of Uzbek business circles.
The main focus was on the development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. Plans were discussed for establishing a House of Uzbek Trade in Minsk to showcase and sell agricultural and electrical products, as well as a project to open a Uzbek national restaurant within the HoReCa sector development framework.
The parties also explored joint projects in the Vitebsk region on a 15,000-hectare area, focusing on livestock farming and potato cultivation. Discussions included investment attraction, product processing, and expansion of export deliveries.
By the end of the talks, both sides agreed to advance cooperation to a practical level and to develop specific joint projects.
