Uzbekistan and Afghanistan intensify trade and investment cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 29 April 2025, a meeting took place in Tashkent between the Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Akram Aliev, and the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Ahmadullah Zohid.
During the negotiations, the prospects for expanding cooperation between the two countries in areas such as industry, trade, and investment were discussed in detail.
Special attention was given to the development of mutual trade, which has grown by 68% since the beginning of this year compared to the same period last year, reaching a volume of 402 million US dollars.
The parties also reached agreements on deepening partnership in sectors such as agriculture, geology, energy, transportation, and logistics.
Additionally, Mawlawi Ahmadullah Zohid participated in the international industrial exhibition "INNOPROM. Central Asia – 2025," becoming a representative of the first Afghan delegation at such a large-scale international forum.
