Uzbekistan Among Top Three Gold Buyers in October
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — According to preliminary data from the World Gold Council (WGC), central banks worldwide increased their gold reserves by 52.6 tons in October, marking the largest monthly gain in 2025.
Leading the purchases were Brazil, which added 16 tons, Poland with 15.6 tons, and Uzbekistan, which increased its gold reserves by 9.3 tons.
Other notable buyers included Indonesia (3.9 tons), Turkey (3 tons), the Czech Republic (2.4 tons), Kyrgyzstan (1.7 tons), and Ghana (1 ton).
On a year-to-date basis, the situation differs: Uzbekistan remains the second-largest gold seller, having sold 12 tons since the start of the year, trailing Singapore, which recorded net sales of 16 tons.
According to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the value of the country’s gold reserves increased by US$3.6 billion in October, reaching US$47.8 billion.
The physical volume of gold rose from 11.6 to 11.9 million troy ounces, corresponding to an increase of 9.3 tons.
