Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Agency for the Development of Cinematography will allocate subsidies in the amount of at least 12 billion soums to TV channels operating on a national scale to support and develop the production of national TV series. At the same time, it is noted that TV channels - recipients of subsidies will have to finance at least 50 percent of the TV series budget from their own funds.
These measures are reflected in the Decree, which was signed the day before by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. A TV channel applying for a subsidy must submit to the Agency for the Development of Cinematography of Uzbekistan a creative draft of the series, which will be considered by the Agency's artistic council. Both the ideological and artistic components and the rating of TV channels will be taken into account.
In addition, the decree envisages a systematic continuation of reforms aimed at developing the national cinema, improving the system of state support for this area, introducing effective mechanisms for film production in the country based on world experience, as well as creating a modern infrastructure for the film industry and developing a film distribution system in the country.
