Uzbek Senate discusses strengthening cooperation with China
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 19 March, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva, met with a delegation from the People's Republic of China, led by China’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Yu Jun.
During the discussion, it was emphasized that bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and China has reached the level of a strategic partnership and continues to develop dynamically. Special attention was given to expanding interregional ties and deepening interaction between the representative bodies of both countries.
The parties expressed their commitment to further strengthening their partnership in areas such as economy, investment, education, culture, and tourism. An agreement was also reached to enhance interparliamentary contacts.
One of the key topics of discussion was the participation of a Chinese parliamentary delegation in the 150th anniversary assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which will take place in Tashkent from 5 to 9 April 2025. China’s keen interest in this major international forum serves as further confirmation of the friendly relations between the two nations.
This meeting marked an important step toward the continued development of the Uzbekistan-China strategic partnership.
