Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 February 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received Deputy Director-General of the Global Green Growth Institute Helena McLeod, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
Welcoming the guest, the Minister congratulated her on the opening of the GGGI Country Office in Tashkent, which became the first representative office of the Institute in the region.
The parties considered the prospects of interaction between Uzbekistan and GGGI in such priority areas as mitigation of the consequences of the drying of the Aral Sea, social protection of the population in the Aral Sea region, adaptation to climate change, improving the energy efficiency of the economy, development and implementation of green technologies, urban greening.
The meeting was also attended by the Head of the GGGI Representative Office in Tashkent, Aaron Russell.
