Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 June 2021, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held a telephone conversation with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel.

During the talks, the sides discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union, as well as upcoming events in the format "EU - Central Asia" and "Uzbekistan - EU".

An exchange of views took place on the preparations for the International High-Level Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Interconnectedness. Challenges and opportunities” on 15-16 July 2021 in Tashkent. 

Josep Borrell noted the relevance of this forum in the context of the EU policy on strengthening interconnection and regional policy of Uzbekistan in Central Asia.
