Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 14 November, a meeting was held in Paris with the director of the Center for Analysis, Planning and Strategy of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (CAPS) Manuel Lafont Rapnuy.
The event was attended by representatives of the leading research centers of Uzbekistan - the International Institute of Central Asia, the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, as well as the Information and Analytical Center for International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
The prospects for cooperation between France and Uzbekistan in modern conditions, issues of interaction between the parties on international platforms were discussed.
Manuel Lafon Rapnuet noted the high dynamics of interaction between countries in recent years and great prospects for building up cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
During the meeting, much attention was paid to the issues of strengthening political dialogue, expanding trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.
It was emphasized that Uzbekistan and France are united by common interests in ensuring stability and security in the Central Asian region, in solving global problems in order to achieve sustainable development.
Agreements were reached to continue the exchange of views on further strengthening the Uzbek-French multifaceted cooperation through scientific and practical events.
CAPS is the analytical center of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its tasks include preparing decisions in the field of foreign policy by “analyzing current international problems and conducting prospective studies of the medium and long term developments in international politics.
