Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 28 January 2025, as part of a visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Davron Vahabov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, attended the Mega Leather Show-2025 international exhibition in Lahore.

During the exhibition, the Uzbekistan delegation familiarized themselves with the achievements of Pakistan’s leather and footwear industry, explored modern technologies for processing sheep and calf hides, and examined a wide range of finished products.

One of the key events was a panel discussion with representatives from leading leather industry companies in Pakistan.

The Uzbek side presented information on the investment potential of the industry, highlighting the availability of a sufficient raw material base and developed processing infrastructure in the country. The high demand for finished leather products and the government’s incentives for investors were also emphasized.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize a business mission of Pakistani companies to Uzbekistan.

Participation in the exhibition and the discussions held open new opportunities for strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan in the leather and footwear industry.
