Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — For the first time in the history of Uzbek entrepreneurship, a local company has acquired ownership of a renowned international brand with over 140 years of heritage and a presence in more than 40 countries. This milestone marks a significant step not only for Uzbekistan’s textile sector but also for its broader industrial ambitions on the global stage.

Kamalak Shabnam Teks LLC, based in the Bukhara region, is implementing a major investment project focused on the production of high-quality technical and household textile products using polyester and polyamide. The output will serve diverse sectors including automotive, defense, aviation, healthcare, and consumer markets.

A key element of the project is the complete relocation of the production assets of the German company Curt Bauer to Uzbekistan. As a result, Kamalak Shabnam Teks has secured exclusive rights to the Curt Bauer brand within Uzbekistan. This move not only localizes production but also transfers the brand’s engineering expertise and technological know-how rooted in the German textile tradition.

The project is expected to create 785 new jobs and make a significant contribution to the country’s industrial development. The adoption of advanced technologies, engineering experience, and management standards will help enhance the international competitiveness of Uzbekistan’s textile products.

The initiative aligns with Uzbekistan’s strategic goals of increasing value-added processing of raw materials, attracting direct foreign investment, and generating sustainable employment across the country’s regions.

Founded in 1882 in Saxony, Germany, Curt Bauer is internationally recognized for its luxury home textiles, technical fabrics, and high-end damask products, particularly popular in West African markets. The brand is known for its elegant design, superior craftsmanship, and innovative textile engineering.
