Uzbek Colleges to Begin Training Specialists for the German Labor Market
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 19 June 2025, a trilateral memorandum of cooperation was signed in Berlin between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Educational Center of the Saxon Economy (bsw Bildungswerk der Sächsischen Wirtschaft gGmbH), and the German Travel Association (DRV Deutscher Reiseverband e. V.).
The agreement sets out plans to train qualified professionals for the international labor market in the tourism sector. Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, 50 students from the tourism and cultural heritage colleges in Samarkand and Margilan will study under German educational standards. A special focus of the curriculum will be intensive German language instruction.
The parties also agreed to form joint study groups, implement modern educational programs, conduct seminars and practical training, exchange knowledge and best practices in tourism, and support the professional development of college students.
Graduates who successfully complete the program and obtain the required German language certification will have the opportunity to gain employment in hotels and other tourism-related organizations in the Federal Republic of Germany.
