Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 June, the leadership of the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISMI) met with graduates of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED).

The event was organized within the framework of cooperation between ISMI and UWED in order to comprehensively assist the University in organizing internships to consolidate in practice the theoretical knowledge they acquired during their studies. The internship will last two months; mentors from among the leading researchers of the Institute are assigned to the students.

During the conversation, UWED alumni received detailed information about the activities of the ISMI. In addition, a thorough exchange of views took place on the organization of the preparation of their theses on topical issues of the international agenda.

It was emphasized that graduates can receive advice from ISMI specialists on priority issues of international relations, domestic and foreign policy of the country.

The meeting also focused on personnel training issues. It was noted that in connection with the proactive foreign policy of Uzbekistan, the need for highly qualified international specialists will only increase.

In this regard, in his Address to the Oliy Majlis, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has repeatedly emphasized the importance of training young qualified personnel who meet the requirements of the ongoing reforms.

At the same time, the training of young specialists in the field of international relations, professional personnel for Uzbek diplomacy contributes to the active and successful promotion of the interests of our state in the world arena.
