Two-year-old girl left without parental care returned to Uzbekistan from Russia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A two-year-old girl left without parental care has been returned to Uzbekistan from Russia, the press service of the Ombudsman for Children’s Rights reported.
The Ombudsman’s office received a request from a resident of the Sariosiyo district in Surkhandarya region. She reported that her granddaughter, who was in the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation, had been left without adult supervision: the child’s father was taken into custody, and the mother was placed in a migration center. The girl was temporarily staying in a city children’s hospital.
Upon receiving the report, the Ombudsman for Children’s Rights, in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Russia, promptly organized the necessary paperwork and ensured the child’s return home. The mother was also returned to Uzbekistan, after which both were handed over to the grandmother.
In this context, it is worth recalling that, according to current legislation, citizens deported from abroad are required to reimburse the state for previously provided subsidies and compensations.
