Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 1 September, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
At the beginning of the conversation, the head of Turkey warmly congratulated the leader of our state and the multinational people of Uzbekistan on the 30th anniversary of the country’s independence. On behalf of the friendly Turkish people, he conveyed sincere wishes for peace, well-being and prosperity in the Uzbek land.
The presidents exchanged views on the issues of the bilateral agenda.
The two-fold increase in the indicators of mutual trade and the creation of more than 240 joint ventures since the beginning of the year were noted with satisfaction.
Cooperation between the leading companies of our countries is strengthening, in particular, important investment projects are being implemented in the fields of energy, industry, agriculture, infrastructure, tourism and other areas.
Joint educational, cultural and humanitarian programs are being successfully implemented. So, in August of this year, leading Turkish specialists headed the architectural and construction institutes in Tashkent and Samarkand.
The leaders also reviewed the schedule of upcoming events at the highest level, including the preparation for the next meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council.
Special attention was paid to the development of the situation in the region in the context of the escalation of the military-political situation in Afghanistan. The importance of continuing contacts and multilateral dialogue on issues of ensuring regional security and stability was noted.
