Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Parking in front of the departure hall has been expanded from 214 to 333 parking spaces. The area was increased by the removal of the canopy and retail outlets, as well as the reconfiguration of the arrival line for buses and taxis. For passengers, as well as people seeing off and meeting, conditions are created in the terminal itself. Catering and retail outlets will soon be available in the departure hall on the third floor.

In front of the arrivals hall, a new parking lot for 175 places was created and the existing one for 122 places was reconstructed. In general, the new project of the forecourt area has increased the number of parking spaces by 187% - from 336 to 630 spaces. A covered car park between the departure and arrival halls will be reserved for tourist buses and minibuses making transfers to/from the hotel.

It is important to add that in support of environmental initiatives, more than a hundred deciduous and coniferous trees will be planted on the forecourt.

As part of the reconstruction of car parks, Uzbekistan Airports purchased a parking system that allows entry / exit and payment acceptance without the participation of personnel. Funds will be accepted in an automated online cash terminal in cash, as well as non-cash through bank cards and mobile payment applications. The system will also have a mobile application that will allow to book a parking space in advance, as well as make payments remotely. In addition, parking lots at the Tashkent airport will be equipped with charging stations for electric vehicles. The equipment is currently being installed and the system is being adjusted. The full commissioning of automated parking is scheduled for October 2022. Until then, car parks will temporarily operate in manual mode.

The management company has set rates taking into account the location and duration (hour, day) of parking. So, an hour at the three nearest parking lots (arrival, departure, Aero STK) will cost 10,000 soums. For three distant ones (“Flight Complex”, “Pass Bureau” and “Green Zone”) - 5,000 soums. At the same time, the first 10 minutes in any parking lot will be free. For example, if the overpass is closed, taxis, as well as private cars or tourist buses, will be able to enter the parking lot at the departure hall absolutely free of charge and leave the passenger. The daily rate is set at 100,000 soums at the nearest parking lots and 50,000 soums at distant parking lots.

It is worth noting that three parking lots were renovated as part of the first phase of reconstruction. At the second stage, three long-distance car parks will be reconstructed, as well as a car park at the domestic terminal. Also, by the end of the year, it is planned to create conditions for those who meet - instead of the existing canopy, a light structure will be erected, where a comfortable temperature regime will be provided depending on the season, seats, coffee corners and retail outlets.

As previously reported, a shuttle bus was launched between the terminals of domestic and international airlines of the Tashkent airport. A low-floor bus with a UzPort sticker runs daily from 05.00 to 23.30 every hour according to the schedule. At the international airlines terminal, the bus drives into a dedicated line in the parking lot near the departure hall, at the local one it drives up to the entrance to the terminal. Shuttle bass services can be used by everyone absolutely free of charge.

On 12 September, a taxi service selected through an auction (BOBUR DIYOR) will start working on the territory of the Tashkent airport. New gasoline-powered cars with large, spacious trunks with "Taxi Airport Tashkent" stickers now stand at the exit of the arrivals terminal. Cars of the "Comfort" tariff will be waiting for customers on the first line. Cars of other tariffs will stand on the second line, or be served at the request of the passenger.

The technology of the taxi service: the passenger comes to the counter installed inside the arrivals hall, gives his address. The manager calculates the mileage according to the tariff and names the amount. If the amount suits the passenger, he pays (in cash or non-cash) on the spot and with a receipt indicating the address and the amount paid, leaves the terminal and gets into the first standing car. Also, the passenger can use the services of a taxi, bypassing the counter, sitting in the first standing car.

It should be noted that the arrival at the terminal will be available only for the Taxi Airport Tashkent service. All other taxis, including those operating through aggregators (Yandex, MyTaxi, etc.), will be able to pick up passengers from the road. For the driver to quickly find his passenger, a large luminous sign visible from afar will be installed, indicating that this is the meeting point of the taxi and the passenger.
