The role of the Youth Parliament in the implementation of state youth policy was discussed

 

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 August 2020, an online roundtable was held on the topic “The role of the Youth Parliament in the implementation of state youth policy and urgent tasks for the future” with the participation of members of the Youth Parliament, created under the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.

It was attended by the heads of the Agency for Youth Affairs, the national movement "Yuksalish" and representatives of other responsible organizations, as well as media workers.

In her speech, Chairperson of the Senate Tanzila Narbaeva noted that the initiative to create a Youth Parliament was supported by the head of our state, which indicates that the state youth policy in our country has reached a new qualitative level.

In addition, it was emphasized that each member of the Youth Parliament should study the problems of youth living in their territory, identify their causes, discuss these problems among youth and submit proposals to the Senate and local Kengashes of people’s deputies.

It was also said that the Youth Parliament performs such functions as ensuring the participation of youth in lawmaking, training future members of the Senate and politicians, that is, in the formation of a personnel reserve, directing youth to the implementation of cherished goals and specific projects.

During the round table, the Chairperson of the Youth Parliament spoke about the future tasks of the commissions of this structure, the draft parliamentary work plan and regulations.

In particular, the members of the Youth Parliament set themselves such priority tasks as the transformation of five important initiatives put forward by the President into a popular movement, the widespread involvement of young men and women in the regional projects "Training Centers for Digital Technologies" and "One Million Programmers", analysis of the representation interests of local youth in the discussed bills. The priority goal is also determined to assist graduates of houses of "Mercy" and young people with disabilities in their social adaptation, as well as active participation in the work to ensure gender equality.

During the event, it was noted that each Senate committee should work in close contact with the Youth Parliament. Its commissions are assigned to the respective committees.
