Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 February, the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, will host an international round table on the Preservation of Russian Cultural Heritage in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Employees of institutions of science and culture of Russia and Uzbekistan will take part in it. This is reported by the Internet portal of the CIS.
Organizers are State Public Scientific and Technical Library of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPSL SB RAS), National Library of Uzbekistan. Alishera Navoi, Expert Club "Siberia-Eurasia".
The relevance of the round table is caused by the strengthening of international contacts in the scientific and cultural sphere, the intensification of interaction between universities and academic research institutes of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation. The variety of forms of such contacts requires new means of communication. A significant role in this is played by the Russian language, which remains an important tool for communication in the post-Soviet space.
During the round table, issues such as joint projects on the preservation of the Russian cultural heritage in the Republic of Uzbekistan will be considered; study of collections of Russian-language literature in the libraries and archives of the Republic of Uzbekistan; introduction of innovative educational programs; help to enlightenment; cross-border exchange of educational and scientific literature.
