Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzsuvtaminot Joint Stock Company organized a press tour for the media and bloggers to the water facilities of Jizzakh region, being built as part of the large-scale project "Improving the drinking water supply system of Jizzakh region through the use of the waters of the Zarafshan River".
As you know, at present, in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to improve the provision of the population of Jizzakh region with high-quality drinking water", the project "Improving the drinking water supply system of Jizzakh region through the use of the waters of the Zarafshan River" worth 579.5 billion soums is being implemented.
Currently, in Bulungur district, near the Zarafshan River, the construction of the Uzunbulok water treatment plant with a capacity of 100 thousand cubic meters, a pumping station, a laboratory, a filtration station and auxiliary facilities has been completed. A 77-kilometer wire has been laid from the Uzunbulok-Gagarin trunk network to the city of Jizzak. The Jizzakh water distribution structure and two reservoirs with a capacity of 5 thousand cubic meters were built. Now, a 90-kilometer wire will be laid from these facilities to the city of Gagarin.
To date, within the framework of the project, 394.8 billion soums have been spent, that is, 68 percent of the funds at the expense of which one water-lifting station and a water-settling basin were built.
In addition, the Jizakh water distribution facility was built, from which 4 km of the main water supply network was laid to the Uzbekistan water facility in the city of Jizzakh. Now the water facility "Uzbekistan" continuously supplies drinking water to 7 mahallas (H. Olimjon, Navoiy, Ulugbek, Kimyogar, Madaniyat, Sulokli, Kalia) of the city.
As a result of the implementation of this project, the full launch of which is scheduled for 1 December 2022, 625 thousand residents (25 percent of the total population of the region) of Bakhmal, Gallyaaral, Sharaf-Rashidov, Pakhtakor, Dustlik and Mirzachul districts will be provided with clean drinking water.
