Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Regulation on the procedure for customs control and registration of international postal and courier items was approved by the government resolution.

According to the regulation, the processing of international postal items, control over them by the customs authorities is carried out at the places of international postal exchange.

Processing of international courier items, their control by customs authorities is as follows:

- upon delivery by rail and road - at specially designated customs posts;

- when delivered by air, it is carried out at customs posts located at international airports or in the adjacent territories.

The transfer of items by employees of operators and postal service providers to representatives of transport organizations is carried out in the presence of an official of the customs authority.

The specified items are opened by operators and postal service providers in the presence of a customs official.

Customs payments for goods sent by shipment are payable by an authorized person.

The rules of this Regulation do not apply to letter post (except for small packages).
