Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 September 2022, the presentation of the book "New Uzbekistan: seizing opportunities" was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of leaders and representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organizations accredited in our country.
The publication was prepared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the DNA Agency with the support of the United Nations Development Program as part of the joint project “Capacity Building for Digital Economic Diplomacy in Uzbekistan”.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov noted that the economic reforms launched in Uzbekistan six years ago are consistently continuing at a new stage in the development of the country. The Republic is increasingly recognized for its fast growing and competitive economy, new infrastructure and innovation potential. The influence and prestige of the country on the world stage is growing.
It was reported that the book provides an overview of the socio-political, legal and economic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, the ongoing measures to create a favorable business environment, increase the investment attractiveness of the country, the benefits and preferences provided for capital investment, and guarantees of the legitimate rights of investors.
The brochure is planned to be published on an annual basis and widely distributed abroad.
The Permanent Representative of the UN Development Program in our country, Matilda Dimovska, said that Uzbekistan, having successfully implemented the first phase of large-scale reforms, is entering a new, responsible stage in its development.
Attention is focused on the steady improvement of the position of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the UN Human Development Index, which is important in the light of the crisis occurring around the world.
Dimovska expressed hope that the book "New Uzbekistan: seizing opportunities" will allow the general international community to better and deeper understand the modern development of the republic, the course of ongoing transformations, the country's features and competitive advantages in terms of doing business.
