Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Shahlo Turdikulova met with the head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) office in Uzbekistan, Miyazaki Suguru.
The parties discussed the prospects for mutual cooperation, ongoing projects, including the activities of the Uzbek-Japanese Youth Innovation Center, as well as ongoing work under the Human Resource Development Scholarship Program (JDS).
Also during the meeting, the Deputy Minister put forward proposals for the transformation of research institutions, the organization of short-term scientific internships for young scientists, the introduction of international standards for educational reforms, advanced training of personnel, as well as establishing cooperation in attracting expert consultants.
As a result of the meeting, the parties reached agreements on organizing training courses under the Knowledge Co-Creation Programs (KCCP), allocating scholarships for human resource development (JDS), reforming the higher education system under the Technical Cooperation program, training women engineers, attracting expert consultants in the field of venture financing and investment in science and innovation.
In addition, the head of the JICA office in Uzbekistan expressed confidence in the further development of cooperation in the field of education and innovation, as well as his readiness to work in constant cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
