The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan and Sanofi sign a memorandum of understanding

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Sanofi company signed a Memorandum of Understanding to improve the performance of the health care system in the field of diabetes and vaccination. This was reported by the press service of Sanofi.

The memorandum was signed by the Vice Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Azizov and the head of the General Medicine business unit for the countries of Central Asia and Belarus Vitaly Bystryukov.

The main provisions of the Memorandum concern the development and implementation of a diabetes management program, as well as the improvement of the National Immunization Program.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding, Sanofi, in cooperation with the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Endocrinology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and other organizations, will work on the implementation of programs to meet the needs of patients by providing innovative medicines, developing therapeutic solutions, and conducting information and educational events for the professional community in areas such as diabetes and vaccines.

Vice Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Abdulla Azizov said: “During the pandemic, the issue of disease management has become even more acute for the whole world. This is due to the fact that the high mortality rate of the population from COVID-19 directly depends on the presence of chronic non-infectious diseases in patients, which can cause a severe course of infection and complications. We believe that in order to achieve qualitative indicators of the level of public health, interaction between the state, business and society is necessary. The signed Memorandum testifies to our intention to provide the population with access to innovations in healthcare, as well as to realize the country’s socio-economic potential and improve the investment climate. "

Vitaly Bystryukov, head of the General Medicine business unit for Central Asia and Belarus, noted: “Today, Sanofi is at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19 coronavirus infection in the world. As a socially responsible company, we consider it our duty to provide citizens with medicines without interruption and make every effort to prevent the spread of infection in the country and the Central Asian region.

Sanofi has been a partner of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan for over 20 years. By signing this memorandum, Sanofi expresses its readiness to cooperate with the state to provide patients with quality therapy in the field of diabetes mellitus and vaccinations. Innovation for us is not only medicines, it is primarily solutions aimed at creating an ecosystem of various services for patients, including screening of risk factors, continuous monitoring and data analysis, personalized recommendations and all related services. "

The parties will ensure the implementation of all necessary measures aimed at reaching agreements within the framework of the signed memorandum.
