Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The President signed the Law "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with improving the legal framework for the adoption procedure."

According to the amendments, the crimes for the commission of which the possibility of adoption is excluded were clearly defined.

In particular, persons who have deliberately committed crimes against life, health, sexual freedom, against the family, related to theft of other people’s property, drugs and a number of other crimes cannot be adoptive parents. Previously, adoptive parents were prohibited from being those who intentionally committed any crime.

It was also noted that persons with certain diseases, the list of which is established by the Government, also cannot be adoptive parents.
