Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 31 October, the Senate Committee on Defense and Security held a round table on the topic "The main areas of interaction between border troops, defense, customs, internal affairs bodies and mahallas in protecting the borders of the Motherland: experience, results and tasks for the future”.

It was attended by senators, chairmen of the standing commissions of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city Kengashes of people’s deputies, members of the expert group under the Committee, senior officials of the border troops of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan, ministries of defense, internal affairs and support of the mahalla and the older generation , the State Customs Committee and the Agency for Youth Affairs, as well as representatives of the media.

As the participants of the round table noted, today the situation in the world is rapidly changing, security threats are becoming more and more serious. This, in turn, calls every citizen of the country to be vigilant.

In this regard, in the territories adjacent to the state border, together with the border troops, defense, customs service, internal affairs bodies and representatives of mahallas, self-government bodies and responsible departments, a number of measures are being implemented to ensure the strength of the border, to prevent offenses of various nature.

In particular, in the border regions of the country there are 541 makhalla gatherings of citizens, the population living in them is about 1.6 million. religious extremist movements - 330, juvenile delinquents - 94 and other categories of citizens - 3,782).

Over the past period of 2022, 1,054 preventive meetings were held with citizens of border areas to comply with border rules and notify local law enforcement agencies about suspicious persons and cases in these territories.

In order to further strengthen work to prevent the penetration of various destructive groups into the territory of our country, ensure the integrity and security of the borders of our country and continuously monitor the socio-political and operational situation, together with the border troops of the State Security Service, the National Guard, the Ministries of Internal Affairs and Defense in In March and August of this year, operational and preventive measures "Chegara-tozalash" were carried out in all border settlements.

In order to prevent the impact on our country of the tense socio-political situation that has developed in neighboring states, maintain the stability of the operational-criminogenic and socio-political situation, ensure peace and tranquility of the population, prevent crimes and offenses of various kinds, the activities of 120 "mobile groups" are organized, consisting from employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Security Service, the National Guard and the Ministry of Defense.

Together with employees of the military units of the border troops of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the involvement of shepherds, hunters and forestry workers, over the past period of 2022, 2,154 reconnaissance and search activities were carried out in border, mountainous and hard-to-reach areas.

In turn, the analysis of the conducted studies showed that there are a number of issues that should be resolved within the framework of the interaction of ministries and departments responsible for protecting the borders of the Motherland, recommendations were made aimed at more effective implementation of the above tasks.

As a result of the discussion, relevant recommendations were adopted.
