Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), together with the Office of the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, conducted the first online OSCE model in Uzbekistan. Twenty-five participants from Uzbekistan, represented by UWED alumni and students, took part in the Model OSCE conference, which took place from 2 to 4 September 2020.

During the online conference, participants had the opportunity to learn more about the structures of the OSCE, improve their negotiation and drafting skills, as well as understand the OSCE’s activities in Uzbekistan in its three program dimensions.

They familiarized themselves with the 1975 Helsinki Final Act, the historic OSCE document that laid the foundation for European peace, enshrined in a joint system of multilateralism based on common values ​​and commitments. The “Model OSCE” in Uzbekistan coincided with the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Helsinki Final Act.
