Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 October, as part of the regular autumn session of the CIS PA, a meeting was held in Samarkand between the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Narbayeva and the Chairperson of the Mejlis Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan G. Mammedova.

The sides discussed the development of Uzbek-Turkmen relations, cooperation within the CIS and assessing the role of the parliamentary institution in the two countries.

First of all, G. Mammedova noted that the session was organized at a high level, conveyed words of gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh G. Berdimuhammedov and President of Turkmenistan S. Berdimuhammedov.

During the dialogue, the parties noted the need to intensify the dialogue between the parliaments of the two countries and continue the mutual exchange of experience on various aspects of lawmaking.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue a regular dialogue and exchange of views on a wide range of issues on the bilateral and regional agenda.
