Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An official ceremony of awarding the Avicenna International Prize, PRIX INTERNATIONAL AVICENNE 2019, was held at the French Academy of Medicine, the Dunyo news agency reported.
This year, the winners of the award, which was organized with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France, were Michel Mondenou, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Montpellier, Algerian Galeb Bensheikh, Doctor of Science, Islamic Studies, and researcher Avicenna, as well as Chairman of the Board of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and promoting the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan Firdavs Abdukhalikov.
The jury was composed of representatives of the French academic community, the French National Medical Academy, the MED21 Program Association and the Avicenna-France Association.
Marc Bonnel, President of the Avicenna-France Association, noted that Uzbek culture and heritage are part of world culture, and it is important to step by step promote their development and popularization. In his opinion, knowledge about the historical heritage of our country should be distributed throughout Europe and the world.
It should be noted that the International Prize, established in France in honor of the great scientist and thinker - a native of Bukhara, Abu Ali Ibn Sina, is awarded for achievements in medicine, enlightenment and education.
