Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 February 2022, the 11th meeting of transport ministers of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) was held. The meeting, which was held in the form of a videoconference, was organized in cooperation with the ECO secretariat under the chairmanship of Turkey, the press service of the Ministry of Transport reported.

In addition to the ECO member states, the heads of a number of international organizations also took part. At the meeting, the delegation of Uzbekistan was headed by the Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the possibility of facilitating and restoring transit cargo transportation in the post-pandemic period. Recommendations were also considered to improve the stability of cargo transportation in the region, including ensuring an uninterrupted supply chain through the ECO countries.

As a result of the 11th meeting of the ministers of transport of the ECO member states, the Ankara Declaration was adopted.
