Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the Cooperation LAB center in Bektemir district held a meeting on expanding industrial cooperation and localization in the regions.
Currently, the share of localized products in the industrial production of our country is only 4 percent. In this regard, the head of state signed a decree to support domestic producers. According to the document, from now on, in public procurement, priority will be given to domestic products. In particular, in the case when more than two representatives of Uzbekistan participate in the tender, only their products will participate in the tender. In addition, a 15 percent price preference will be provided to domestic goods. From now on, representatives of local authorities will be directly involved in all purchases carried out at the expense of the budget.
In this regard, the meeting discussed in detail the development of localization and cooperation using these opportunities.
Specified, in particular, on the potential of production in our country of 1712 items for the automotive industry, which are now imported, which will reduce foreign exchange costs by at least US$150 million. The task was set to identify regional enterprises capable of mastering such production with the creation of high added value. The need to reduce the cost of cars and increase their competitiveness in the market was emphasized.
There are enough opportunities in Uzbekistan for the production of small-scale mechanization, equipment and spare parts for agriculture; such equipment is guaranteed to be in demand. For example, at enterprises and service bases not operating at full capacity in Bukhara, Kashkadarya, Samarkand, Syrdarya, Ferghana regions, spare parts of more than 120 names can be produced. In addition, it is advisable to create private service enterprises that will provide high-quality service to agricultural machinery and train specialists in this area, it was noted at the meeting.
The issues of deepening cooperation ties between the electrical, automotive industry and agriculture are analyzed, the corresponding tasks are determined.
“Without cooperation between industries and regions, it is impossible even to imagine a value chain and new industrial development,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
