Tashkent Launches US$90 Million Project for Aluminum Packaging Production and Beverage Bottling

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the “Yangi Avlod” Special Industrial Zone in the Yangihayot district of Tashkent to review the operations of a new enterprise producing aluminum packaging and bottling beverages.

In recent years, Uzbekistan’s industrial policy has reached a new level, forming an economic growth model based on modern production capacities and international technological standards. The “Yangi Avlod” Special Industrial Zone, established by Presidential Decree on 20 March 2024, stands out for its modern infrastructure, convenient logistics, and extensive investor incentives.

A key project in the zone is East Can Solutions, equipped with state-of-the-art machinery from the USA, UK, Italy, and Germany. The production processes are fully digitalized, ensuring efficient control at all stages. The facility spans 21 hectares, with a project cost of US$90 million, mainly funded by foreign investments.

Production capacities will expand in stages: the first phase plans to produce 600 million aluminum units per year, the second phase — 1.1 billion, and the third — 2.2 billion. This will meet domestic demand and allow exports regionally.

The project is expected to replace imports worth US$60 million and generate US$20 million in export potential, with production localization reaching 90%. Once operating at full capacity, the enterprise will create 500 new jobs and contribute significant tax revenues to the budget.

President Mirziyoyev was also briefed on the overall progress of the “Yangi Avlod” zone. Currently, 58 projects with a total value of US$1.2 billion are underway, covering food production, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical industry, and construction materials. Twenty-eight priority initiatives were highlighted, expected to create 7,600 new jobs.

The development of the “Yangi Avlod” zone is not only fostering economic growth but also enhancing social stability by providing employment, increasing export potential, and supporting the growth of local industries.
