Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Tashkent regional administration has commented on reports circulating on social media regarding the death of a schoolboy following an attack by a stray dog in the city of Angren.
The statement noted that social networks and several information sources reported that a schoolboy had been attacked by a stray dog and subsequently died from severe injuries. The regional authorities emphasized that the incident has caused deep sorrow and serious concern among the public.
Relevant services are conducting operational measures to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
The administration also reported that measures to control stray animals, including their capture and placement in designated facilities, have been intensified throughout the city and region.
According to authorities, the dog that attacked the schoolboy was captured by the city’s stray animal control team, an official report was drawn up, and the animal was transferred to a specialized holding facility.
An emergency meeting was held yesterday with representatives of the regional administration, where responsible organizations — including municipal services, veterinary authorities, and sanitary-epidemiological departments — were instructed to take immediate action.
