Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During an operational event held on the territory of Zangiota district, employees of the State Security Service for Tashkent region together with the regional customs department detained two residents of Urgut district of Samarkand region, when they were selling 9.1 kg og opium for US$54,000.

It turned out that they were supposed to deliver to the buyer the drugs, previously smuggled by a Tajik drug courier, into the territory of Urgut district and hidden in a cache, and transfer the money received to the Tajik drug dealer. For these services, they were to receive US$2,700.

In another case, recorded in Tashkent region, the sale of a large batch of the drug Tramadol, which is included in the category of narcotic drugs, whose circulation is limited on the territory of Uzbekistan, was stopped. In particular, a resident of Zangiota district, a man was detained while selling 19,360 pieces of Tramadol. His accomplice, a previously convicted citizen was also detained. The total value of the seized 39,650 pieces of Tramadol imported from the Republic of Kazakhstan is 800 million soums.

In this direction, the staff of the State Security Service in Ferghana region, together with other law enforcement agencies, also carried out a number of operational activities. So, when examining a car "VAZ-2102", in the territory of Tashlak district, 465 grams of opium was found, and in the interior of the car "Lacetti", moving in Altyaryk district, 239 grams of hashish was seized. It should be noted that in both cases, drugs were smuggled in from the Kyrgyz Republic.

In addition, a vehicle was stopped and examined, moving along the Vuadil-Ferghana route under the control of a previously convicted resident of the city of Ferghana. As a result, 1,786 pieces of the highly effective Tropicamide drug were found in the trunk of the car, which were confiscated in a procedural manner. During the event, a previously convicted citizen, born in 1974, who imported this drug from Kyrgyzstan, was also detained.

During the event held in Chust district of Namangan region, employees of the regional department of the State Security Service, together with other law enforcement agencies, stopped and examined a Cobalt car. As a result, 3,390 pieces of the highly effective drug "Zardeks" were found and confiscated from a passenger car - a resident of Kasansay district. 

It was established that he purchased the said medicines for resale from a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, who imported them by detour routes to the territory of our republic.

Currently, criminal cases have been initiated on all these facts under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.
