Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Employees of the Office of the State Security Service for the city of Tashkent, together with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes and the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the capital, carried out a number of operational activities.

In particular, a previously convicted resident of the city of Tashkent, born in 1959, demanded from the buyer US$500,000 for registration through his acquaintances in the authorities in his name 2 hectares of irrigated land located in Yukori-Chirchik district, previously allocated to another person to create a greenhouse, as well as obtaining a permit for the construction of a production workshop there. However, he was detained while receiving 50 thousand US dollars of the requested amount.

In another case, recorded in Bostanlyk district, a citizen, born in 1990, demanded from the buyer US$350,000 for registration in his name of 35 hectares of land, through his familiar officials without being put up for auction. This land belonged to the farm of another citizen and was allocated for 49 years for gardening. The fraudster was caught red-handed while receiving US$40,000 as an advance.

Along with this, a resident of the city of Tashkent, born in 1992, was detained while receiving a deposit in the amount of US$10,000 out of the requested US$680,000 for registration in his name of 3 hectares of land in Bostanlyk district, owned by an LLC managed by another person.

Also, in this direction, the staff of the State Security Service for Jizzakh region, together with the territorial Office of the Department under the General Prosecutor’s Office, carried out an operational event.

In particular, the head of a farm specializing in cotton and grain growing in Sharaf Rashidov district decided to sell 5 hectares of irrigated land of this farm for 200 million soums and planned to issue relevant documents in the name of the buyer through his acquaintances in the district agriculture department. He was detained while receiving the requested amount.

Three previously convicted residents of the city of Andijan and Altinkul district, having entered into an agreement, demanded US$36,000 for registration in the name of the buyer through their familiar officials of 4.5 hectares of land located in the small industrial zone of Altinkul district.

However, one of them was caught red-handed by officers of the State Security Service of Andijan region and the Department under the Prosecutor General’s Office while receiving US$10,700 of the requested amount.

Also, during the continuation of the operation, two of his accomplices were detained.

Currently, criminal cases have been initiated on the above facts under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and an investigation is underway.
