Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 December 2020, an event was held at the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dedicated to the results of the work of the upper chamber of parliament this year.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Senate Tanzila Narbaeva noted that under the leadership of the President, large-scale reforms are being carried out in the political, socio-economic, cultural and educational spheres, and the necessary measures are being taken to build a new Uzbekistan. It was emphasized that 2020 was a year of trials, but the timely and important measures taken by the head of state yielded positive results.

In addition, the Chairperson of the Senate spoke about the need to define and fulfill tasks in 2021, based on the Address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to parliament.

During the event, the Chairman of the Senate presented state awards to senators who were awarded state awards in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On awarding a group of civil servants and workers in the industrial and socio-economic spheres" on 28 August 2020 in connection with the twenty-nine anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Thus, the Order of "Mehnat Shuhrati" was awarded to the chairman of the Committee on Defense and Security Issues Kutbidin Burkhanov, the Order of "Dustlik" - to the Chairman of the Committee on Science, Education and Healthcare Odiljon Iminov, the medal "Sodi1 Khizmatlari Uchun" - Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Judicial and Legal Issues and anti-corruption Shukhrat Chulliev.

In addition, Senator Farkhod Bokiev, who works on a permanent basis in the Senate Committee on Defense and Security of the Oliy Majlis, was awarded by the UN Coordinator in Uzbekistan a special certificate for being active and supporting the initiatives of the 75th anniversary of the UN Global Summit. The certificate was presented during the event.

Recently, the khokimiyat of Tashkent region conducted a survey among the population of the region, during which active responsible workers were identified. In the nomination "The most active senator cooperating with the region", the senator, who works on a permanent basis in the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Budget and Economic Reforms M. Kadirkhanova, was recognized as the winner and she was presented with memorable gifts from the regional administration.
