Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of establishing cooperation between the analytical centers of Uzbekistan and Turkey, as well as in the context of active information work, including in the fight against the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, the participation of the acting director of the Center "Development strategy" was organized on 7-8 October in the work of the Eurasian Economic Summit in the city of Istanbul, Dunyo news agency reported.
The event was organized in an online format by the Fund for Strategic and Sociological Research "Marmara Group" (Istanbul). The international conference was attended by high-ranking statesmen and public figures, current and former heads of government, members of parliament, ministers from 45 countries, including the USA, Austria, Belgium, France, Turkey, Slovenia, China, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Croatia, chairmen of international organizations, leading scientists and world-renowned experts.
The event was divided into sections devoted to global politics, world economy and energy, peace and security, and the speakers' speeches were broadcast live on the global Internet, as well as on national and international TV channels in Turkey and other foreign countries for two days.
At the opening ceremony of the international summit, Akkan Suver, President of the Fund for Strategic and Social Research of the Marmara Group, called for uniting the efforts of all countries and international organizations in the fight against the global pandemic, strengthening cooperation in the field of mutually beneficial relations, and overcoming the negative consequences of the global crisis.
At the event, the executive director of the Development Strategy Center, Eldor Tulyakov, spoke as a speaker on national reforms of Uzbekistan and effective measures against the global pandemic, as well as on regional and international cooperation. As he noted in his speech, the proactive foreign policy of Uzbekistan did not stop during the global pandemic, ensuring regular contacts with the leaders of not only Central Asia, but also other regions and coordinating anti-crisis efforts. In addition, humanitarian aid was sent on behalf of the people of Uzbekistan to countries affected by the pandemic, in particular to neighboring republics and Hungary. In turn, the partner countries, including Turkey, provided Uzbekistan with both material and practical assistance in the fight against coronavirus infection, an exchange of experience in the field of medicine was established.
In particular, Eldor Tulyakov noted the practical efforts of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states in the fight against the spread of coronavirus. From the very beginning of the global pandemic, the leaders of the five member states of the Turkic Council - Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan - held a special summit in the form of videoconference to exchange views on priority measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Representatives of 45 countries that took part in the two-day international summit exchanged views on the current difficult situation caused by the global pandemic, joined forces, exchanged experiences, and worked together to overcome the consequences of the economic crisis and other similar issues.
As a result of the international summit, relevant proposals and recommendations on the issues discussed were developed.
