Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A geographic information system and web portals are being formed in all spheres of the economy using digitalization and innovative information and communication technologies.
Also, with their help, public services and other types of services are provided to the population and business entities. Spatial data include navigator maps, geoportals, databanks of Internet web services. Space images, information taken by drones, and additional information about the earth, buildings, roads, rivers, pipes are an integral part of spatial data.
On 21 August 2020, at a meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, deputies considered in the first reading the draft law "On the National Spatial Data Infrastructure".
According to the amendments to the legislation, the chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Land Resources, Geodesy, Cartography and State Cadastre H. Turakhujaev made a presentation on the conceptual justification of the draft law and its protection before the deputies.
The project was developed in order to form a legal basis for streamlining relations in the field of creation and use of spatial data, streamlining legislation in the field of creation and use of spatial data, as well as creation, maintenance and development of the National infrastructure of spatial data of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The bill stipulates the regulation of relations in the field of creation and use of spatial data, as well as the creation, maintenance and development of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure.
After stormy questions and answers, factions of political parties expressed their opinion on the bill.
According to the deputies, the adoption of the law contributes to the establishment of the main directions of state policy in this area, the creation and use of spatial data, the creation of the National Infrastructure of the country’s spatial data. It also creates a legal basis for the right of access (use) and protection of spatial data, the establishment of interdepartmental relations in the creation and use of spatial data.
After discussion, the draft law was adopted in the first reading.
