Some 5,000 foreign students study in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the beginning of the 2022/2023 academic year, the number of foreign students studying at higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 5 thousand people.

The number of foreign students studying in higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan by years:

2017/2018 academic year - 1.3 thousand people

2018/2019 academic year - 2.7 thousand people

2019/2020 academic year - 3.6 thousand people

2020/2021 academic year - 4.2 thousand people

2021/2022 academic year - 5.1 thousand people

2022/2023 academic year - 5 thousand people

According to the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, as of 1 January 2021, the number of citizens of Uzbekistan studying abroad amounted to 85.9 thousand people.
