Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 November 2020, a meeting was held between the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sodiq Safoyev with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to the Republic of Uzbekistan Zehavit Ben Hillel.

During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the establishment of a permanent dialogue between the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Knesset of Israel.

It was noted that the parliamentary dimension provides an opportunity to further strengthen relations between states. In this regard, the Ambassador highly appreciated the effectiveness of the transformations carried out in Uzbekistan. She noted that the election of Uzbekistan to the UN Human Rights Council was an important achievement of the country on the path of democratic development.

Also the parties discussed the situation related to the pandemic and the measures taken in both countries. It was noted that timely measures taken help to minimize the consequences of COVID 19.

The sides also discussed the possibilities of expanding interaction in the areas of introducing new technologies, education, science and culture.
