Short-Term Drop-Off Zone Introduced in Front of Tashkent North Railway Station

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A dedicated lane for vehicle access has been introduced in front of the North (Central) Railway Station in Tashkent. According to the press service of JSC "Uzbekistan Railways," drivers can now stop in front of the station free of charge for up to five minutes.

For stops lasting between five and ten minutes, a fee will be charged in accordance with the approved tariff. If the stop exceeds ten minutes, administrative penalties will apply, including fines for violating traffic regulations.

A road sign has been installed on-site indicating that short-term stops are allowed, but parking is prohibited. Surveillance cameras will monitor both the duration of stops and vehicle license plates, allowing for automatic issuance of fines. Installation of barriers and video monitoring systems is currently being finalized.

Previously, this area served as a terminal stop for public transport, which has now been relocated to the side of the station square. The lack of a convenient and legal drop-off area had often forced drivers to violate traffic rules.

The company noted that this improvement was made following an instruction from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a meeting held on 27 May 2025 to enhance conditions at railway stations.
