Sherzod Shermatov: in cooperation and maintaining mutual respect, we will be able to overcome this situation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In connection with the beginning of the 4th quarter from 29 March, many parents have questions about how to act when the spread of coronavirus cases increases and schools are transferred to distance learning.

I would like to remind you once again that for the convenience of students, a hybrid education system has been introduced in the current academic year, that is, parents can decide for themselves whether to send their children to school or receive education remotely, at home through the free online School TV channels.

In turn, in areas where the epidemiological situation is worsening, local authorities may strengthen quarantine measures. Given this, local authorities have the right to make decisions and transfer schools in certain areas to distance learning. In addition, school administrations have been instructed to pay more attention to compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements.

It should be noted that the pandemic has a negative impact not only on the world economy and education system, but also on the nervous system of people. Proceeding from this, dear parents, I ask you to treat with understanding the measures taken, only in cooperation with the school and maintaining mutual respect, we can overcome this situation.

Sherzod Shermatov

Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan
