Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the creative work carried out in Tashkent and the activities of enterprises.
A year ago, the head of state got acquainted with the project of a road and an overpass that will connect the Sergeli district with the center of the capital. On 26 December last year, the bridge on Kipchak Street was opened, which is an important part of this road. Today, a new road and another bridge to Choponota Street are being built from this bridge.
The length of the bridge over the Small Ring Road and the Salar Canal will be 788 meters, and taking into account the ramps - 950 meters.
The head of state got acquainted with the construction progress.
The structure is being built using advanced engineering solutions using prestressed reinforced concrete technology. This increases the strength and safety of the structure. In particular, work is being carried out without stopping traffic on the Small ring road and the railway.
- This is an inexpensive, reliable, convenient technology for our people. With an eye on the future, we will build bridges in many more places. Therefore, it is necessary to bring specialists and students here, show them the process, teach them modern technologies, - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
A new six-kilometer road is being built from the bridge to Kipchak Street. A tunnel will be built at the intersection with the Tashkent ring road. Thus, Choponot streets in Chilanzar district and Kipchak street in Sergeli district will be connected.
Currently, cars moving from the Sergeli district to the city center and back mainly use one road - Yangi Sergeli street. In this regard, traffic jams constantly occur here.
The new six-lane bridge and road will have a capacity of up to 12,000 vehicles per hour. As a result, the traffic congestion in the Sergeli district will decrease by 50 percent, and the travel time will be reduced by 20-25 minutes.
Energy-saving lanterns will be installed along the roads. Green areas, sidewalks and bicycle paths will be created on the vacant lots.
There was also a presentation of a project for the development of roadside infrastructure along Yangi Uzbekiston Street of Kibray district of Tashkent region.
