Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent condolences to President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov in connection with the death and injury of citizens of Kyrgyzstan as a result of a traffic accident that occurred in Ulyanovsk region of the Russian Federation.

Expressing deep condolences to the fraternal people of Kyrgyzstan, the head of our state asked to convey words of sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims, wished recovery to the victims.

On 21 August at 14.10, the operational duty service of the Crisis Management Center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Ulyanovsk Region received a message via the "112" system that in Nikolaevsky district of Ulyanovsk region on the M5-Ural highway there was an accident involving a private minibus of the Mercedes brand and two trucks.

During the day, a terrible counter added to the number of dead. According to the latest data, 16 people died in the car accident: 15 passengers of the minibus and one truck driver. Two Russians and 14 citizens of Kyrgyzstan who were traveling to Moscow to work. The three survivors are in critical condition and are receiving anti-shock therapy. One of them was sent by helicopter to Ulyanovsk.

According to the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the driver of the heavy truck did not brake on time on the highway and crashed into a minibus, which was sandwiched between two trucks. All the dead and injured are adults, there are no children, according to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region.
