Shavkat Mirziyoyev Discusses Strategic Partnership and Investments in Uzbekistan with EBRD Head

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the sidelines of events in Davos, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The discussion focused on practical aspects of deepening the strategic partnership and expanding cooperation with the leading international financial institution.

Uzbekistan remains EBRD’s largest partner in the region, with total investments reaching nearly US$7 billion. In 2025 alone, operations exceeded US$1 billion, including projects supporting the private sector.

The parties highly valued the bank’s contributions to the development of green energy, modernization of transport infrastructure, implementation of environmental programs, financial market reforms, and support for entrepreneurship.

Special attention during the meeting was given to priority cooperation areas for 2026: private sector development, infrastructure projects, digital transformation of railway transport, and continuation of programs for training women and youth in modern professions and entrepreneurial skills.
