Senate of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis holds talks with delegation of China

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 31 March 2025, Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, held an official meeting with a high-ranking delegation from the People’s Republic of China.

The Chinese delegation was led by Liu Jianchao, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and head of the International Department.

During the talks, both sides emphasized that, thanks to the highest level of mutual trust and strategic partnership established by the leaders of the two nations, Uzbek-Chinese cooperation has reached a qualitatively new level.

Particular attention was given to the implementation of joint projects in investment, trade and economic collaboration, as well as cultural, humanitarian, and educational exchanges. The prospects for developing interregional ties between Uzbekistan and China were also discussed.

A key topic of the dialogue was deepening the strategic partnership and strengthening interparliamentary cooperation.

Both sides underscored the importance of parliamentary diplomacy as a crucial tool for advancing bilateral relations.

The meeting also addressed the intensification of cooperation in the context of the upcoming 150th anniversary session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly, set to take place in Uzbekistan’s capital.

Liu Jianchao highly praised the dynamic development of Uzbek-Chinese relations and reaffirmed China’s commitment to further expanding cooperation in all areas, including the economy, culture, tourism, and education.

At the conclusion of the talks, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in strengthening the strategic partnership and fostering interparliamentary dialogue, which serves as a solid foundation for achieving shared goals.
