Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Currently, members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Kutbidin Burkhanov and Farhod Bokiev, are taking part in a round table in the city of Doha, Qatar, on the topic “The role of parliamentarism in the implementation of national action plans to combat terrorism and violent extremism, accompanying terrorism”.

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defense and Security Issues Kutbidin Burkhanov in his speech spoke about the important work that is being carried out in our country to combat terrorism and extremism.

In particular, it was noted that Uzbekistan is one of the countries actively fighting international terrorism. In this regard, the country supported the adoption of the UN Global Anti-Terrorism Strategy, ratified 14 international conventions and statements on the fight against terrorism and religious extremism.

In addition, it was said that the National Strategy of Uzbekistan on Combating Extremism and Terrorism for 2021-2026 was approved and the Road Map was developed on its basis, and other important measures were taken.
