Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 13 May 2025, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbaeva, held talks with a delegation from the Kyrgyz Republic, headed by the Deputy Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Azygaliyev, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the next meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Oliy Majlis and the Jogorku Kenesh.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as the state of affairs and prospects for further deepening Uzbek-Kyrgyz cooperation. It was emphasized that inter-parliamentary ties play a key role in ensuring stable political dialogue between the two friendly countries.

The participants of the meeting expressed satisfaction with the steady positive dynamics of bilateral relations, which are facilitated by regular high-level visits and active participation in international parliamentary events.

The successful practice of holding meetings of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission in various regions was particularly highlighted, as both sides believe this contributes to the development of inter-regional cooperation and allows for the consideration of local specifics.

The importance of the Commission as an effective mechanism for direct exchanges of views between parliamentarians and advancing concrete initiatives within the framework of the bilateral agenda was emphasized.

The conversation also focused on the significance of the first Uzbek-Kyrgyz Tourism Forum, which took place in Samarkand. The forum became an important step in expanding humanitarian ties, promoting tourism, and deepening cultural exchange between the peoples of the two countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation, strengthening collaboration on international platforms, and implementing joint initiatives aimed at developing good-neighborly relations and ensuring sustainable development in the entire region.
