Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 February 2022, the Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Chairwoman of the Commission on Ensuring Gender Equality of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva met with the Managing Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for Central Asia Zsuzsanna Hargitai.

During the meeting, the state and prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EBRD were considered.

Zsuzsanna Hargitai highly appreciated the reforms being carried out in the country to modernize the country, which include measures to comprehensively reform the structure-forming sectors of the economy, improve the banking and financial system, develop the capital market, and consistently privatize banks.

The achievements of the republic in the implementation of the state policy in the field of gender equality and protection of the interests of women, increasing their role in the socio-political life of the country, as well as the development of women’s entrepreneurship were especially noted.
