Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 13 March, Orzigul Kozikhonova, Chair of the Senate Committee on Youth, Women, Culture, and Sports, met with Stefan Buchmeier, Head of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) project "Preventing Violent Extremism in Central Asia."

The discussions focused on the implementation of state programs for youth engagement within the GIZ project, the expanded role of women in preventing violent extremism, and strengthening inter-agency cooperation.

Stefan Buchmeier highlighted that the project is actively collaborating with various government bodies, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Law Enforcement Academy, and the Committee on Family and Women.

Special emphasis was placed on supporting state and public initiatives aimed at preventing violent extremism and enhancing the resilience of vulnerable groups to radical influences.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation and continue joint efforts in this direction.
