Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In Tashkent, preventive measures are being carried out within the framework of the "Safe Capital" concept. In August of this year, a group of persons, members of the international terrorist organizations operating in Syria, who were on the wanted list, were identified.
According to the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs, seven citizens of Uzbekistan are suspected of having connections via the Internet with international terrorist organizations.
Within the framework of the criminal case, in 108 addresses of Almazar, Shaykhontakhur, Uchtepa, Yashnabad, Mirzo-Ulugbek, Yunusabad and Sergeli districts, searches were carried out on the basis of the prosecutor's sanction, as a result of which 94 citizens were brought to the department of internal affairs.
As a result of operational actions, prohibited materials of propagandists of extremist movements and international terrorist organizations were found in the places of residence of the detained persons. The materials found were seized in the appropriate order.
A criminal case was initiated against 1 person under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and also against 10 persons, administrative penalties were imposed under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code. At present, operational and investigative measures are being continued.
